Autonomous Power Corporation (Powerus) has secured a $22-million contract to deploy a networked suite of counter-drone solutions in support of American oil and gas interests in the Middle East.
Powerus will be tasked with providing detection, tracking, classification, and early warning capabilities in different phases according to operational needs.
The networked solution is intended to deliver a common operational picture through command-and-control, allowing users to track potential drone threats within their mission environment.
Initial deployment will focus on early warning systems designed to spot unmanned aerial threats, giving operators tactical data they need to make urgent operational and safety decisions.
This approach sets the foundation for the integration of the company’s Guardian interceptor technology, paving the way to expand the defense infrastructure as future threats emerge.
“This commercial contract reflects the direction we believe the counter-drone market is heading — toward integrated, networked protection of critical oil and gas infrastructure,” said Brett Velicovich, Powerus President and Co-Founder.

The Demand for US Counter-Drone Tech
Powerus said the agreement reflects growing demand for American counter-drone technology to defend complex mission environments.
The company also stressed the contract gives it room to work with international energy partners, which strengthens its position as a leading provider of counter-drone solutions for critical sites.
“Powerus is bringing US-based engineering, manufacturing and technology to help protect the operations that power that infrastructure,” Velicovich said.
