EOS Defense Systems USA is rolling out a modernized version of its Slinger remote weapon system (RWS), now tuned to outsmart and outshoot the drones redefining today’s battlefields.

The upgraded RWS introduces aided target recognition and now operates on varying levels of autonomy to keep pace with evolving drone threats.

According to EOS Chief Executive Officer Shawn Baerlocher, the enhancements will streamline a soldier’s workload by assisting with the “detection, classification, and engagement” processes of hostile drones in real time.

“The RWS can operate in a ‘stand-alone’ capacity, utilizing only its native, passive sensors or receive an external cue from a remote sensor,” he stated. “Either functionality allows effective execution of platform self-defense.”

The addition of an automation suite, Baerlocher added, also enables drone defeat with reduced burden on the warfighter.

A ‘Combat-Proven’ System

The Slinger integrates a 4D targeting radar, a 30mm cannon capable of firing explosive fragmentation rounds, and a company-owned stabilizing tech to deliver accurate, single-shot drone kills.

It can detect and engage targets well beyond 800 meters (2,625 feet), thanks to what EOS calls “exquisite pointing technology.”

The company envisions the Slinger to be part of layered counter-drone defenses, deployable across multiple platforms to protect mobile assets.

Operationally validated and combat proven, the system has already earned trust from armed forces in both Western and Eastern theaters.

“Combining proven precision accuracy with low-cost kinetic effectors and selectable autonomy, Slinger offers a highly effective and scalable solution for protecting mobile platforms on the modern battlefield to solve capability gaps across the dimensions of warfare,” EOS stated.
