Baykar’s Kizilelma unmanned combat aircraft has completed its first live-fire tests using its internal weapons bay, successfully releasing precision-guided munitions against ground targets in Çorlu.

The trial, conducted with the serial-production S2 model, saw the aircraft deploy a Roketsan Teber-82 guided bomb and an Aselsan Tolun glide bomb from inside the fuselage.

According to the Turkish firm, the internal weapons bay is designed to preserve the aircraft’s low radar signature, speed, and aerodynamic efficiency while carrying munitions, supporting operations in heavily defended airspace.

“TEBER scores another bullseye! The test firing conducted with TEBER-82 from the internal weapon station of Bayraktar Kizilelma has been successfully completed,” Roketsan CEO Murat Ikinci stated.

“We are producing together, growing stronger together.”

Latest Kizilelma Milestones

The test marks another development milestone for Turkey’s first unmanned fighter aircraft.

Last year, the Kizilelma executed its first autonomous close-formation flight involving two aircraft and carried out what Baykar described as the first beyond-visual-range air-to-air kill against a jet-powered target using its Murad active electronically scanned array radar and Tübitak Sage Gökdoğan missile.

The platform has also launched the JET-230 supersonic missile, integrated a range of domestically developed precision-guided weapons, and demonstrated manned-unmanned teaming with the Leonardo M-346 transonic training aircraft.

The Kizilelma program is being funded by Baykar, which said it recorded $2.2 billion in exports in 2025 through defense agreements with more than 30 countries.
