The Pentagon’s Defense Innovation Unit has selected Tesseract Ventures to advance in the Containerized Autonomous Drone Delivery System (CADDS) prototyping program, which aims to field containerized launch systems for autonomous drone swarms.

The initiative seeks to develop ruggedized ISO shipping containers capable of housing, managing, and deploying large numbers of unmanned aerial systems with minimal human intervention.

It also emphasizes an open, future-ready architecture to improve interoperability and accelerate technology upgrades.

As part of the effort, the Kansas-based company will demonstrate its NOMAD system, a modular platform designed to launch, recover, move, and recharge autonomous aircraft across land and maritime domains.

The container integrates open-architecture software, autonomous mission management, and resilient command-and-control capabilities to reduce operator workload while supporting distributed operations.

“This selection is an important milestone for Tesseract Ventures and validates our vision of delivering scalable autonomous systems and drones that meet the evolving needs of the US military,” said John Boucard, CEO and founder of Tesseract Ventures.

“We are honored to support DIU’s mission of rapidly fielding commercial technology to the warfighter.”
