Ukrainian defense firm SkyFall has introduced the P1-SUN JetKiller, a high-speed interceptor designed to counter Russia’s growing use of jet-powered Shahed unmanned aerial systems.
The company said the interceptor is undergoing combat trials and has already downed Iran-designed Shahed drones.
SkyFall aims to scale production to as many as 50,000 interceptors per month, with serial manufacturing expected to begin in August 2026.
JetKiller Specifications
The JetKiller can reach speeds of up to 370 kilometers (230 miles) per hour, operate across a range of up to 30 kilometers (19 miles), and fly at altitudes of 9,000 meters (29,528 feet).
It has an endurance of around 15 minutes and carries a 500-gram (1-pound) warhead.
The interceptor can be equipped with day or night cameras and an AI-powered terminal guidance system designed to support precision engagements.
SkyFall said the AI system can “detect and capture enemy targets faster than the human eye at distances of up to 1 kilometer (0.6 miles),” helping operators engage targets more quickly in challenging combat conditions.
It added that the JetKiller builds on the existing P1-SUN 3D-printed UAS airframe, which it claims has neutralized thousands of Shahed drones since entering service in late 2025.
Shaheds in Ukraine
Russia has increasingly fielded jet-powered versions of the Shahed attack drone, reducing the response time available for Ukrainian air defense systems.
Reuters, citing a senior Ukrainian Air Force commander, previously reported that 15 to 20 percent of Shahed drones used by Russia now feature jet engines, with some variants reaching speeds of up to 500 kilometers (311 miles) per hour.
