Detect. Disrupt. Destroy. Protect every domain.

As drones evolve, so does the need to defend against them. Across air, land, and sea, militaries are developing systems — from radar and sensors to electronic warfare and kinetic defenses — to reclaim control and stay one step ahead of uncrewed threats.

UK Tests Helicopter-Drone Tactics in Norwegian Fjord Drills

11 MAY 2026 - Wildcat HMA2s from 815 Naval Air Squadron conduct a photo exercise with P2000s and a Royal Norwegian Navy Skjold-class corvette, during Exercise Tamber Shield in Norway. Now in its fourth consecutive year, Tamber Shield continues to demonstrate the effectiveness of enhanced interoperability between the two maritime forces. For the first time, Puma surveillance drones from 700X NAS will also participate in the exercise, enabling the Fleet Air Arm to develop its crewed-uncrewed teaming (CUC-T) capability against small, agile threats.
During the exercise, Puma conducted forward scouting missions, relaying targeting data back to Wildcat crews.

US Air Force MQ-9 Reapers Gain Long-Range Precision Strike Capability

Air Commandos assigned to the 27th Special Operations Wing prepare to load a GBU-39B Small Diameter Bomb Weapon System onto an MQ-9 Reaper during a weapons load competition at Cannon Air Force Base, New Mexico, March 27, 2026. The GBU-39B is designed to limit collateral damage, expanding the MQ-9’s ability to deliver persistent, scalable effects in support of special operations forces across a range of operational environments. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Kevin Williams)
The low-yield, precision-guided munition expands the MQ-9’s role in supporting unconventional missions while aiming to reduce collateral damage.

UK Adds Low-Cost Drone Killer to Typhoon Jets in Middle East

Image of a RAF Typhoon aircraft, seen here firing the Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System (APKWS). Air-to-air live firing of the APKWS system, was carried out during trials in the UK in April 2026 by 41 Test and Evaluation Squadron. British citizens and regional partners will be better protected against drone attacks as the Royal Air Force deploys a new low-cost anti-drone weapon on operations in the Middle East. The new Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System (APKWS) will be fitted to RAF Typhoon fighter jets so that they can destroy targets precisely and at a fraction of the price of missiles currently used. Rapid procurement and testing work by the Ministry of Defence and industry partners BAE Systems and QinetiQ has enabled the system to move from testing to deployment on operations in less than two months. March saw a successful test strike on a ground-based target, and RAF Typhoon pilots from 41 Test and Evaluation Squadron conducted successful air-to-air firing in April, demonstrating the system’s ability to defend against drone attacks. The system has now been deployed on operations in the Middle East with sorties flown by 9 Squadron RAF Typhoon fighter jets as part of the missions to defend British people, interests and partners from threats.
APKWS converts unguided 70-millimeter rockets into precision-guided munitions designed to engage drones while limiting collateral damage.
